This macro is a favorite food for many herbivorous fish and invertebrates. It's an attractive plant that will grow well in many lighting types. It will do well in a refugium to support micro fauna and help remove excessive nutrients from your water. You will receive about a 1/4 lb. piece of Gracilaria. This is a little larger than a softball.

 

Turtle Grass

This sea grass is collected from south Florida. Turtle grass requires a deep sand bed usually greater than 4" deep. This particular grass is one of the hardier of the grasses to grow in aquaria. This is a true vascular plant so it will grow slower than the typical macro algaes found for saltwater aquariums. Turtle grass, Manatee grass and Shoal grass are all favorable habitats for Pipe fish and Seahorses.

This sea grass is collected from a brakishwater environment and does grow well in saltwater or brakish systems. This particular grass is one of the faster growing in aquaria.

 

Shoal Grass

This sea grass is collected from a brackish water environment and does grow well in saltwater or brackish systems. Shoal grass does not need to be planted as deeply as other sea grasses. makes a great border or background plant. Looks best planted heavily and will reach heights of about 8-10 inches.
